Colin is a widely experienced company Director with hands on knowledge of managing companies in both turnaround and growth situations.
He has held senior management positions in a variety of industries including brewing and soft drinks, metal finishing, general engineering, water and waste treatment, printing and direct mail and building maintenance and building services. His last full time employment was with the South Staffordshire Group plc (1994 to 2001), where he was charged with developing the group’s non water activities. This he achieved by growing these non regulated activities from a start up situation to represent more than 50% of the group’s turnover and profit in six years.
These non water activities included a company providing services to home owners by way of insurance backed plumbing, electrical and other such services. This company, Homeserve plc, is now independent of the South Staffordshire Group and is listed in the top 250 companies on the London Stock Market. Colin also has a wide range of experience in acquiring and selling businesses and in post acquisition integration and management. Colin currently provides non-executive/mentoring support to a number of privately owned SME’s up and down the country.
